Kinja'd!!!

After being gone from home since January its great to be home for a week. First order of business was to fix my LS400. Today my dad and I machined all four rotors, replaced the front pads, oil and filter change, rotated the tires, started diagnosing random noises coming from the engine bay, and restored the headlights. Still to come is a tune-up, dig further into the engine, wipers, and trunk seal. Also changed my sisters oil and rotated the tires(white GS behind mine). Can't wait to get some more done.

Having a full shop with lifts/on car laithes/all the tools ever made and a Toyota/Lexus Master Tech at my disposal makes everything easier and a little less frustrating.

When I had the ‘87 300D I was dating the assistant service manager. She let me use a lift - there is no better way to judge what your car needs. Oh, damn ... the 90s.

I only missed the part where I actually fixed things, not the 20 hours of snapped bolts, ill-fitting aftermarket parts, and fruitless trips to the yard.

Just move out of NYC and commute in train

We had that discussion 2 years ago - then we tossed out Brooklyn and Westchester - we’re shopping for an apartment in Manhattan (whether I like it or not).

Solution. Just join the classic car club in Manhattan and rent a cheaper apartment to cover the cost

Cheaper than $2,650? Not going to happen ... and we’re saving every penny to buy something before the end of August. Also, while that club is tempting, it’s very expensive. At least for now, I’m content with rentals.

Usually just to go down to DC/MD to see family, or I borrow a car from my buddy, who has a fleet for his pool business. This was my last adventure.
